PlayPumpsINTERNATIONAL
While children have fun spinning on the PlayPump merry-go-round (1), clean water is pumped (2) from underground (3) into a 2,500-liter tank (4), standing seven meters above the ground.
A simple tap (5) makes it easy for adults and children to draw water. Excess water is diverted from the storage tank back down into the borehole (6). The water storage tank (7) provides a rare opportunity to advertise in outlaying communities. All four sides of the tank are leased as billboards, with two sides for consumer advertising and the other two sides for health and educational messages.
The revenue generated by this unique model pays for pump maintenance. The design of the PlayPump water system makes it highly effective, easy to operate and very economical, keeping costs and maintenance to an absolute minimum.
Capable of producing up to 1,400 liters of water per hour at 16 rpm from a depth of 40 meters, it is effective up to a depth of 100 meters. For more info, please visit www.playpumps.org
Against Malaria
AMF launched and ran World Swim Against Malaria (WSM) on 3rd Dec 2005 in which more than 250,000 people swam and fundraised. 100% of the US$1.3m raised purchased 270,000 long lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) which are now being distributed to protect 540,000 (mainly) children from biting insects when they sleep at night.
The AMF is a charity registered in the UK and governed by the laws of England & Wales. Our registered charity number is 1105319. We are also registered in other countries.
The Foundation was set up in August 2004 with the explicit aim of handling the money raised through World Swim Against Malaria.
As stated in the Articles of Association of the Foundation, the official document describing our purpose, our aims are:
“…the relief of suffering from malaria by the provision of funds for the prevention and/or treatment of malaria and the advancement of education in the subjects of a) the problems and suffering caused by malaria and b) what can be done to alleviate them.”
More specifically, 100% of the money we raise buys long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets (LLINs). Via distribution partnerships, these nets end up over heads and beds and we demonstrate that has happened.

Africa New Life Ministries
In 1994 following the genocide that claimed nearly 800,000 lives, Charles Buregeya visited Rwanda and was greatly moved by the needs of the children who had been orphaned by the war. While visiting he spoke in several churches and helped organize crusades to share a message of hope to the nation. It was during this time that he became aware of the tremendous needs of the orphaned children, the struggles of the widows, and the impact of poverty. People needed food, medical care and hope for the future. Charles knew he had to do something to help.
Together with his wife Florence and their strong faith in God they started Africa New Life Ministries, an organization that would reach out to the widows and orphans of Rwanda. They began by sponsoring nine children to provide food and school for one year.
To better prepare to lead the organization both Charles and Florence came to Portland, Oregon, USA in 2000, nearly 10,000 miles from Rwanda to attend Seminary at Multnomah Bibical Seminary. While attending seminary they were assisted by Dr. Tim Robnett, a professor at Multnomah, Tony and Serena Morones, and other friends in realizing the call God had put on their heart.
Africa New Life Ministries started in 2001 with about 30 sponsored children, and since then it has grown to more than 1,500 sponsored children, a full primary school, five orphanages, two churches, and many other ministries. Incredible things have happened, thanks to the dedication of so many generous and faithful people, the prayers that have been answered, and the amazing loving kindness of God.

Matsiko: a choir of International Children's Network
Matsiko gets it name from the Ugandan word for "hope" and the children sing songs that give just that to those who listen. An ICN Matsiko performance includes much more than the children's beautiful harmonies. During the concert they share cultural dances, act out dramas, and perform some of the most powerful and complex drum routines ever heard. When you see the choir in action, your heart will melt as the children share their individual stories of how sponsorship has forever changed them.
Through the choir countless thousands of children will be able to be reached with the hope of a brighter future. All proceeds generated by the choir tour and merchandise sales goes directly to support ICN's programs worldwide. These programs provide sponsorships that send children all the way through the university and allow sponsors to meet their child face to face, no matter where he or she is in the world.
Matsiko's first US tour is scheduled for early 2008. If you are interested in having Matsiko perform at a venue in your town, it is important to contact us as soon as possible as space will be filling fast. The children would love to share with you the gift of life, love, and hope they have received through the support of sponsors, people just like you.
